August 24, 2017. Spruce Knob, 4,800 ft. Clear, transparency above average. SQM 21.7. 16" F/4.5, 8 mm Ethos. Arp 312 (VV 197). Next to a bright star. MCG+8-31-5 by far the largest and brightest. -6 compact, round on its SE end. -4 widely separated to SW. 14th mag star to E has a fuzzy appendage on W side - 2MASX galaxy.

August 24, 2017. Spruce Knob, 4,800 ft. Clear, transparency above average. SQM 21.7. 16" F/4.5, 8 mm Ethos. Arp 310 and 311. IC 1259 brighest, minor component on W side, bright star ENE, faint star embedded E of center. IC 1258 second brightest. Star off N edge. IC 1260 smallest.

August 24, 2017. Spruce Knob, 4,800 ft. Clear, transparency above average. SQM 21.7. 16" F/4.5, 8 mm Ethos. Arp 293. NGC 6285 is a stubby CCW "S" with an EW bar. -86 is an edge-on or bar (NE-SW) with a detached star cloud or enhanced edge of asymmetric halo running S from middle of the line between nucleus and star E.

August 24, 2017. Spruce Knob, 4,800 ft. Clear, transparency above average. SQM 21.7. 16" F/4.5, 8 mm Ethos. Arp 208. Very unequal double NW-SE (MCG+8-31-10 and -11). 3 stars W, 2 S. Close double star immediately W, pointing at equally faint star between it and W-most of the 2. S component of star pair brighter. W of it, repeated glimpses of MCG -9, pointing just S of the S-most of the 3. Somewhat uncertain.

Arp 262, VV 255, PGC 72977. August 1, 2017. Spruce Knob, 4,800 ft. Clear, calm, dry. 60 F. Transparency average, seeing good. SQM 21.9. 16", 330x. Visually binucleate. S "nucleus" sharper. "Nuclei" connected by a shallow arc convex to the W. Two stars On N end of halo.

Arp 282, IC 1559. 199 Mly. August 1, 2017. Spruce Knob, 4,800 ft. Clear, calm, dry. 60 F. Transparency average, seeing good. SQM 21.9. 16", 330x. Miniature Whale and Pup. Bright star in field. Widely separated star cloud on axis to the E forms a broad isosceles triangle with faint star to the NE of core.

Arp 130, VV 263, IC 5378. August 1, 2017. Spruce Knob, 4,800 ft. Clear, calm, dry. 60 F. Transparency average, seeing good. SQM 21.9. 16", 330x. Main core round next to two stars. Companion glimpsed repeatedly but remained difficult. Orientation glimpsed once. Companion slightly inward of the line defined by the stars, widely separated from core on edge of common halo.

Arp 46, VV 314. August 1, 2017. Spruce Knob, 4,800 ft. Clear, calm, dry. 60 F. Transparency average, seeing good. SQM 21.9. 16", 330x. In nearby UGC 12667 two arms point at two stars, one opposite. In UGC 12665 (Arp) 3 apparent cores: core, companion, and, in actuality, condensation in arm opposite. Star N of companion intermittent.
