Arp 245

2020-02-14, 42 N, elev. 700 m. Sky brightness 21.5 mag/arcsec2, seeing 2 arcsec. Telescope: D = 508 mm, F/4 Newtonian. Oculars: 13 and 8 mm, wide-field. Arp 245, Hyd (galaxy pair NGC 2992-3). Sketch on black paper, finished at the telescope. Shown with the north up. Although I also examined the field at higher and lower magnifications, the peculiar arm in NGC 2993, the connecting material, and the neighboring PGC flat galaxy remained invisible.

Sh2-308

2020-02-14, 42 N, elev. 700 m. SQM 21.5, seeing 2 arcsec. Telescope: D = 508 mm, F/4 Newtonian. Ocular: 28 mm. OIII filter (Orion US - passes H-beta as well). Sh2-308, CMa, supernova remnant. Only the brightest, western segment was visible. Sketch on black paper, finished at the telescope. Shown with the north up.
